About the Organization

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization that has been operating for over 100 years worldwide. To date, tens of thousands of children and teenagers have found Big Brothers and Sisters who have helped change their lives for the better. Although the principle of operation in the organization is similar everywhere, each relationship is unique. You and your Little Sibling will create the special characteristics of your connection as you get to know one another.

Try to Remember Your Childhood Picture

Who is standing beside you? Your father? Mother? A Big Sibling? We take for granted that someone was there for us when we were young. But there are thousands of children whose reality is different. Without a mature, responsible and supportive figure, these children are forced to cope with life on their own. The consequence of this reality is a feeling of loneliness, a real damage to one’s self-confidence, difficulty integrating into society and increased exposure to negative influences.

You Can Change Their Childhood Picture

We’ll pair you with a child who needs your guidance and support – it can be through conversation and time spent together enjoyably, playing, creating and having fun. Over time, your presence and the relationship that develops will create a real change in your Little Brother or Sister’s sense of self-worth and in their lives in general. Your life too will be affected by the meaningful and unforgettable experience which awaits you.

Two Hours A Week, A Whole Life

We believe that volunteering should fit to your schedule in order to give wholeheartedly while enjoying the journey. A two-hour long meeting with your Little Brother or Sister once a week has an amazing cumulative impact.  You will witness this time and time again.

Here by Your Side

We will accompany you throughout the period in which you volunteer. Guidance includes ongoing counselling, professional training and workshops, communication channels with other volunteers and everything that will enable you to make the process meaningful for you and your Little Brother or Sister.
